NSPCC Awareness Campaign on Child Online Safety

The NSPCC is launching a public education campaign, called Share Aware, to help parents keep their children safe online.
The campaign is aimed at parents and carers of children aged 8-12 – the age at which they  start doing more online, become more independent and use a greater range of devices.  The campaign aims to encourage parents and carers to understand online safety and to have conversations with their children about keeping safe.
Having conversations from a young age can help build trust and openness and get preventative messages across.
However, many parents feel confused by the internet and out of their depth in understanding what their children are doing online and what the risks might be. The Share Aware campaign aims to give parents the tools to feel confident to have these conversations.

Thank you for your support!

Our recent PTA infant and junior disco events have raised a fantastic £487 for our school. Thank you to everyone who suuported the events by either helping to organise, helping on the night or buying a ticket for your child. The children love coming to the discos and a wonderful time was had by all!

On the last day before the half term we held a non-uniform day which raised £168. Our fundraising aim this year is to develop and improve our playground for the children. You may have already seen the new brightly coloured bins we have installed. Look out for some new playground markings coming soon…

Christmas Appeal

For our Christmas Appeal this year we are supporting Wood Street Mission, a charity that support vulnerable families in Manchester and Salford with free food and toy professional essay writers parcels.  Last Christmas they helped 4100 children and 1900 families.  This year they expect many more will need their support.

If you can, please help local disadvantaged children and families this Christmas by donating either a new toy or book (unwrapped) suitable for a child up to early teens, or non-perishable food goods suitable for young families.

Please hand your donations to a class teacher by Friday 28th November so the charity can collect them in early December.

For more information about the charity visit their website at www.woodstreetmission.org.uk.

Thank you for your support!
