School Uniform

School Uniform Policy

At Unsworth we have school uniform that pupils are required to wear.

• This encourages the pupils to be smart.
• Avoids unpleasant comparisons or competition over clothes.
• Ensures that clothing does not detract from school work
• All items of clothing or equipment should be marked clearly with the child’s name.
• The wearing of jewellery is not allowed, except for stud type earrings which should be either removed or taped for PE lessons
• We ask that any watches worn are not expensive ones in case they are mislaid.
• Extremes of fashion in hairstyles and colours are not allowed (natural hair colours only)

Our Uniform

Our school uniform consists of:

• grey trousers, grey skirt, pinafore, or checked summer dress
• white shirt (polo shirt in YR)
• navy jumper (plain or with emblem)
• school tie (except YR where no tie is required)
• grey, black or white socks, or grey tights
• black shoes

Please note: with effect from September 2024, Reception class uniform will consist of a white shirt and school tie, the same as the rest of the school

 PE Kit:

Children should have a PE kit in school to change into for PE lessons. The PE kit consists of:

• white tee shirt (plain or school logo)
• black shorts
• plain black leggings/black jogging bottoms
• plain black hoodie or zip fleece
• trainers for outdoor use
• black pumps for indoor use

PE kits should be kept in a drawstring bag  on the child's peg within their cloak room. They will be sent home regularly to be washed

Please note: we are phasing in a new PE uniform from September 2024 to September 2025. This will consist of:

• pale blue tee shirt with logo
• plain black shorts, leggings or joggers
• navy hoody with logo

We will be asking that children wear their PE kit on their PE days.

We have recently changed of uniform supplier. Our uniform can now be purchased from PT's School Wear. PT's are a local company with shops in Radcliffe and Bury. Take a look at their website here.

Orders are delivered to your home. Standard delivery charge is £3.50, Express delivery is £4.95. Orders of £30 or more are delivered free of charge.

School ties and book bags are available to purchase at the school office. Ties are £3.50, book bags £4.
