The importance of good attendance
Regular school attendance is crucial to a student’s success and to ensure that they have equal access to all of the opportunities offered to them in school.
Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience so we actively work towards supporting children and families to promote attendance and punctuality.
We recognise the vital role that parents and carers play in this and work to establish a strong and effective home-school partnership with all of our families. Where a child’s attendance or punctuality becomes a concern, we communicate with families and work in partnership to resolve those issues as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
Children whose attendance has fallen below 96% are monitored weekly and we communicate with parents when attendance falls below 95% and 90%. We recognise that some pupils cannot reach 100% attendance but will always work with families to ensure that a child’s attendance is the best it can be, to ensure that all pupils have every opportunity to maximise their experiences in primary school.
What if my child is ill?
Please contact the school office on 0161 766 4876 for every day that your child is absent from school due to illness. School staff will make a welfare phone call if a child is absent for more than two days just to check in and see if any support is needed at home.
Term-time holidays
Term-time holidays are not permitted, unless there are exceptional circumstances agreed by our Headteacher, Mrs Grundy. However, you should always advise us if you are taking your child on term-time leave by completing the form below and returning it the school office.
