Our Ofsted inspection took place in March 2023. The outcome was that we continue to be a good school. Some key points from the report include:
- Pupils are happy and safe at Unsworth Primary School. All pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), are supported well by skilled staff. Pupils know that staff care about them.
- Leaders expect pupils to achieve as well as they can.
- Leaders deal with any incidents between pupils, including bullying, thoroughly and well. Leaders have equally high expectations of pupils’ behaviour.
- Pupils appreciate the diverse nature of their school community. This helps them to develop positive attitudes towards those who may be different to themselves.
- Leaders provide all pupils, including those with SEND, with an ambitious and well-thought-out curriculum.
- Pupils enjoy reading. They use their reading knowledge well to learn new information. Pupils enjoy the high-quality texts that leaders provide.
- Pupils learn to listen to, and reflect on, different points of view.
- Leaders ensure that the curriculum supports pupils’ wider development.
- They ensure that all pupils, especially those with more complex SEND, know how to express their worries, and ask for help when they need it.
