Our early years curriculum builds upon our motto of ‘Together we build understanding’. It expresses what we want to achieve for every member of the Unsworth community – understanding of self, of each other, of our community and the wider world. We have built a curriculum to deliver this, which we believe will open doors for our pupils.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is based upon the key principles of the Early Years Framework and follows the seven areas of learning. These are based on three prime areas and four specific areas and are as follows:
- Communication and language
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Physical development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
We also use Cornerstones Curriculum to enhance our curriculum offer.
